  About LodgeBuilder

This collaborative site is designed to provide on-line help to those interested in rebuilding, maintaining and improving fraternal groups. Use of content is free, as long as you cite where you found the material, to allow others to join in.  We want YOUR success stories.

Published under the authority of the Grand Lodge of Minnesota, AF & AM, LodgeBuilder is open for use by all who support the fraternity.  If you are not from the GL of MN, your own grand lodge may have specific rules about interaction with websites hosted by other “foreign“ jurisdictions, and you should conduct yourself accordingly.

LodgeBuilder is a “Knowledge Management“ or KM site -- a recent management concept that sees each of us as experts at some portion of our avocation, in this case, fraternal operations. The KM theory states that if we find a way to share freely and efficiently what we know to others who seek that information, it will improve everyone's work. Good ideas - “Best Practices“ - are shared freely. Then, diverging from the method used by other bulletin boards, good knowledge management also demands that we cut redundant or non-essential posts which tend to impair users ability to quickly and efficiently find the content they need. As Joe Friday said, “Just the facts, Ma'am.“ The net result will be an ever-expanding free collection of only the best ideas about running effective lodges. The only fee-based offering here is the SVR Tool, sales of which support the free website. Contact tom@pro-activemktg.com privately for more information about the SVR Tool.

Browsing and downloading are open to the public, but if you want to post to the forums you'll need to login.  Your privacy is respected; we do not spam site users.

LodgeBuilder debuted January 5th, 2004.

Platform -- The site platform is the DotNetNuke portal, a favorite of the Microsoft .NET development community and also highly recommended.  Jordan Stradtman is the .NET developer who first introduced me to this product, and is a highly skilled website design and management consultant.
